Internal Wall Insulation
Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) is suitable for properties of solid wall construction, where other methods such as cavity wall insulation is not available.
IWI involves attaching insulation on the internal walls, although floor space is lost and the process can be quite disruptive it offers excellent thermal properties and delivers a significant improvement to the EPC rating.
All of the below is included in our quotes and the property will be cleaned and left in a state ready to paint.
What does the process involve:
- An initial assessment of the property
Installing wooden battens to the inside of all externally facing walls - Moving radiators and electrics forward to accommodate the insulation
- Installing 50mm+ of PIR insulation
- Covering with plaster board, plastering and attaching skirting boards
- Re-installing radiators and electric points
- Re-assessment of the property and new Energy Performance Certificate
